2017 in Review at Fresh Relevance
2017 was set to be a big year for Fresh Relevance, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The past 12 months have seen a number of achievements for the company and to end the year on a high, we thought we’d write a blog summarizing our successes of 2017.
SETsquared’s Top 50 Entrepreneurs of the last 15 years
In March 2017, it was announced at a ceremony in the House of Commons that CEO and Co-Founder at Fresh Relevance, Mike Austin, was to be included in SETsquared’s list of the Top 50 Entrepreneurs.
Five leading research-intensive universities: Bath, Bristol, Exeter, Southampton, and Surrey collaborated to form the SETsquared Partnership. The process of compiling the list involved consultation with an external panel of investors and corporates, to acknowledge the top entrepreneurs and ventures over the last 15 years.
Marketing Week Live
Attending and hosting events has certainly been one of the highlights of 2017 for us here at Fresh Relevance. Marketing Week Live in March was a great opportunity for us to network with and learn from industry leaders including our friends at Dotmailer. One of our favorite quotes from the event was “Sell the sizzle, not the sausage”.
Foresight £2.15 Million Investment
In April 2017, Foresight Group invested £2.15 million in Fresh Relevance for assisting international growth. The investment has helped us to accelerate our expansion across North America, explore market opportunities in new territories and further extend our in-house development capabilities.
Rodney Appiah, Senior Investment Manager, Foresight Group, commented:
“Their (Fresh Relevance’s) innovative and flexible marketing platform is addressing the demand for greater personalization online and is already relied upon by hundreds of leading retailers.”
Fresh Relevance North America Expansion
Expansion has been a major focal point for Fresh Relevance throughout 2017. We’ve increased our workforce in both our London and Southampton offices, but we’ve also set up shop in Boston as a kickstart to our expansion across North America. Having a base in the U.S. has brought many opportunities for Fresh Relevance this year, including becoming a Gold sponsor for this year’s Meet Magento New York. At the event our Partner Manager for North America, Michael Gentleman, held a 30-minute breakout session entitled ‘Become a Marketing Hero with Cross-Channel Personalization’.
Our 300th Client
2017 is the year that Fresh Relevance was chosen by over 300 brands as their personalization platform to boost ROI, improve customer engagement, and maximize online sales.
October 2017 brought the refresh of the Fresh Relevance brand. We partnered with digital agency Scratch M+M to create a new website that provided a fresher and more straight-forward user experience for our visitors.
Fresh Ideas Live
Also in October, Fresh Relevance hosted its first ever client summit, Fresh Ideas Live, at The Shard in London. The day included multiple talks about new features, how clients are using the platform and the success they've seen, and a guest talk from BlueVenn’s Iain Lovett.
Over the course of the year, the number of people working at Fresh Relevance has continued to grow, almost doubling to now more than 40 team members. Our most notable additions include Georges Berzgal, our new Chair.
