Why Sendcloud and Fresh Relevance?

Sendcloud is an all-in-one eCommerce shipping platform that helps online retailers save time on shipping and optimize their checkouts, offering branded tracking and a seamless return process for both businesses and consumers.

The Fresh Relevance platform captures behavioral and transactional data from website visitors, identifies visitors with sophisticated data capture tools and provides a comprehensive suite of cross-channel personalization tactics to provide customers with a tailored experience that sets our clients apart from their competitors.

What Sendcloud say

Read our short interview with Tom van den Heuvel, CMO at Sendcloud to learn more about the partnership and get insights into key eCommerce trends to look out for this year.

Please introduce yourself and Sendcloud

Hi there! I’m Tom van den Heuvel, CMO for Sendcloud, based in the Netherlands.

From relatively humble beginnings, we’ve grown to Europe’s #1 shipping platform with a goal to help our customers ship faster and smarter. Simply put, we seamlessly connect eCommerce stores to the most popular UK couriers to save them time and money. Our platform optimizes the whole shipping process, from checkout and delivery to tracking and returns. In less than 10 years, we’ve become the market leader in our field in Europe and we’re hoping to do the same in the UK.

Can you tell us about one of your biggest client success stories?

A great example for the UK market is St Martin’s Coffee Roasters. They’re a specialty wholesaler supplying coffee to a wide variety of businesses across the UK.

Since 2014 the company has been supplying restaurants, offices and hotels across the UK. When the pandemic hit, founders Andy and Ole had to pivot swiftly by selling to household consumers to keep the business going. Today, eCommerce accounts for 30% of their turnover.

Ole tells us: “Initially we didn’t have many problems with shipping as dispatching our wholesale goods was steady. But as the business became more successful, we had to find more efficient ways of shipping orders. Finding a shipping solution to take care of both B2C and B2B has been invaluable. Before Sendcloud we used to waste so much time manually typing in orders. With Sendcloud we can match the order sheet with the labels in seconds. The days of frantically chasing parcels that don’t match the list are a thing of the past.

I think this is an excellent example of where we’ve been able to help a grassroots business like this take things to the next level.

Why did you choose to partner with Fresh Relevance?

Both Sendcloud and Fresh Relevance have been on each other’s radars for some time now. Our objectives are aligned in the sense that we strive to give our customers the most seamless and personalized experience possible, so we’re really excited to finally be joining forces and are able to help our customers reach their goals together.

We also appreciate that these days more than ever, online businesses aren’t just focused on building a customer base but on building the relationships that ensure customer retention. We see the value Fresh Relevance offers here and look forward to working with them to see what our brands can do together to build customer loyalty together.

What’s a key trend eCommerce leaders should be looking out for in 2022?

While shipping is not often viewed as the most glamorous part of the eCommerce experience, it is one of the most important. We all know that feeling when something goes wrong with shipping or delivery and it leaves a bad taste with that brand or courier for some time. This is why more and more online businesses are making it a priority to improve, which we see as a step in the right direction.

Shipping or delivery mishaps also contribute to the majority of bad reviews online and across social media which obviously can be incredibly damaging to a business’s reputation. This is why tackling issues around shipping and delivery head-on is becoming a trend in conversations throughout the industry. We hope that businesses such as Fresh Relevance and Sendcloud whose offerings can help smooth out shipping and delivery, not to mention tracking and returns, can help sellers refine their processes and ultimately make a better experience for customers.
